The goal of the Publications Committee is to provide leadership and direction to the association’s publication program that supports the mission of the association, and is responsive to the needs of WHLA members. Identify goals and strategies for the Wisconsin Lodging Directory, InnTouch Magazine, Wisconsin Lodging Insider, and Capitol Insider publications.

Milwaukee’s hospitality spirit shines brightest when we celebrate our teams together. Join GMHLA in recognizing the hard work, heart, and hospitality of over 2,000 hotel professionals this August!

What is Hotel Employee Appreciation Week?

Hotel Employee Appreciation Week is an annual initiative led by the Greater Milwaukee Hotel & Lodging Association (GMHLA) Board of Directors. During the week of August 18–24, 2025, more than 50 hotels and their dedicated staff will be recognized for their outstanding commitment to hospitality and Milwaukee’s tourism community.

Why Participate?

• Boost morale and show gratitude for our hospitality professionals.
• Unite Milwaukee hotels through a shared recognition effort.
• Highlight industry pride across social media and local news.
• Be part of a citywide movement to celebrate those who make Milwaukee shine!

How It Works

All GMHLA member hotels will receive a one-time celebration kit drop on August 24, including gift cards, trivia contest materials, and extra treats to help celebrate Employee Appreciation Week. All week, we’ll spotlight the celebration on social media and invite properties to submit “Meet Our Team” stories and photos to be featured after Employee Appreciation Week.

Get Involved

For Associate Vendors
Support Milwaukee’s frontline heroes by donating promotional items, gift cards, or treats for inclusion in our celebration kits! Vendors will be recognized throughout the campaign on GMHLA’s social channels.

For Lodging Properties
Help champion industry pride by providing a gift certificate (room night, dining, spa, etc.) for raffle prizes. Your property will be celebrated as a program partner.

Ready to donate? Email donation details to gmhla@wisconsinlodging.org by August 12.

• All donating vendors and hotel partners will be showcased on LinkedIn and GMHLA’s channels.

This committee monitors new and pending legislation in collaboration with WHLA staff and the contract lobbyist. Duties include reviewing legislation and providing position recommendations on relevant bills and issues to the Board of Directors. Additional duties may include advocacy assistance and the planning of WHLA Action Day. Commitment: 5-10 hours per year, plus Action Day.
