The Madison Area Hotel Lodging Association (MAHLA) is a non-profit trade association representing hotels and other lodging establishments in the greater Madison, Wisconsin area. The Association serves the lodging industry by providing information, education, marketing, governmental affairs and networking opportunities to more than 80 lodging property members. The GMH&LA is also an active partner with the state association, the Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WH&LA).

28th Anniversary GMHLA Volleyball Tournament

We’re gearing up for one of GMHLA’s favorite traditions — the GMHLA Volleyball Tournament, and you’re invited to be part of the action!

For nearly three decades, teams from Milwaukee-area hotels and hospitality vendors have come together for an afternoon of friendly competition, networking, and sunshine. Whether you’re playing to win or just soaking up the summer energy, this is the perfect way to kick off the season with your team!

Schedule of Events

Check-in: 12:30 PM
Games Begin: 1:00 PM
Finals and Awards: 4:00 PM
Event Ends: 4:30 PM

Details

Team Information

• Team Size: Up to 8 players per team (5 required)
• Co-ed rule: At least two female players must be on the court at all times
• Games: Minimum of 2 games
• Waivers: All players must sign a waiver on-site (no need to submit names in advance)
• Welcome Kits: At check-in, each team captain will receive a welcome kit with player wristbands for complimentary food and sponsored drinks throughout the tournament

Awards + Prizes

Team Awards will be presented to the Grand Champions, Second Place, and Third Place teams.

Stay for the post-game celebration - all players are entered to win exciting door prizes!

Fans Welcome!

Not playing? No problem! Fan tickets are available for purchase so coworkers can join in the fun, enjoy refreshments, and cheer on their teams.

Sponsorships

All sponsorships include logo placement on event emails and the webpage, an option to distribute promotional items and provide giveaways at the event.

Location

Root River Center in Franklin features a party pavilion overlooking eight fully groomed sand courts. The pavilion has bar service, and food will be served throughout the event.

Each team registration includes up to 8 players. If your team has more than 8 participants, you can purchase additional player passes in advance for a small fee to cover food and event costs.

A block of rooms is available at the Chula Vista Resort for a discounted rate: $109.00 = Tower Jr. Suite; $249.00 = El Grande 2 Bedroom Condo plus taxes.

The resort fee for those booking in the block has been waived. The discounted rate is not available online and is only available by calling.

This committee monitors new and pending legislation in collaboration with WHLA staff and the contract lobbyist. Duties include reviewing legislation and providing position recommendations on relevant bills and issues to the Board of Directors. Additional duties may include advocacy assistance and the planning of WHLA Action Day. Commitment: 5-10 hours per year, plus Action Day.
